That means that I have finished the first two trilogies in the series.

A bit of a spoiler warning here for the end of book 6, so unless you want your reading ruined, don’t read on:

So, another trilogy in and still no sign of Steve. The movie really did a shit job in keeping with the continuity of the books… he apparently doesn’t really appear again until 7. (Which is now on the Current Reading deal, except that I don’t have the book yet) I only know this because I am a sucker for spoilers (x.x) and read the Wikipedia ones for the next trilogy.

Anyways, I enjoyed this one. It introduced (and killed :() some cool new characters that would be fun to see in film version. Watching Arra and Darren on the bars would be AWESOME. Heh. Though I can’t say that it wasn’t pretty predictable, what Kurda would do. Shan did a good job, though, setting up his character and leading him to his demise. We knew what Kurda said in his trial was truth – he believed every word he said. It saddens me to know that we see this sort of thing all over in the world today.

I also really enjoyed the wolves and their roles. The old one, Marge or whatever her name was, was quite the story. The Little Train That Could, maybe? :) Shan really seems to have a thing for setting his characters up to die, doesn’t he? You can’t help but feel that she did right before dying.

Hmm… what else. Oh, yes, the ending. What. A. Bunch. Of. Bullshit. The Vampires that treasure their rules? Weren’t they having a FIT at the idea of Kurda, like 120 years old, being Princed? But yet they let 20 year old Darren? What the hell? That seriously does not work. But I suppose it works for Mr. Des[mond] Tiny. lawl.

—

Now I need to wait for a good coupon at Borders (Yeah, there is a 30% out, but that’s still not enough) or for me to get hired (♥) before I buy more.

…yeah, I have an interview this weekend :-)

(Or maybe the second, I dunno) As well as his parentage. I also talk about how the series ends briefly :P

Every now and then, I tend to get kinda down. Today was one of those days. I don’t really have a reasoning for being down, it’s just… sigh. So what is there to cheer me up? Sometimes I’ll bug my friends, or I’ll play some games, or whatever… today, I decided to continue in my quest for understanding of the Percy Jackson fandom. And to do that, I found fanfic.

And I think I found my new OTP. Nico, by the way, is my favorite character in the books. I’m always a fan of the kinda depressing-emo-whatever characters. Lone wolfs in Digimon, whatever. But yeah, Nico was my favorite character from the moment he arrived. He’s got the whole my-life-sucks-cuz-I’m-Hades’-kid deal going on.

SO, without further ado, I rec Family Dinner by Amethyst Grey to you. It follows canon for the most part – even with the Annabeth girlfriend thing that comes at the end of book 5. But basically, it’s a heartwarming series about the dating Percy and Nico having their parents (Sally, Poseidon, and Hades) over for dinner. It has the quirks of canon and still has that fun little lovey-dovey theme that can just make you giggle, especially the ending scene.

It’s a quick one shot, and only 7,000 words so a quick read. But wahhh it’ll make you smile :)

You can find it HERE – it’s been added to my list of favorites! ^^

And durr, if you haven’t gotten it already, it’s slash. As in Nico/Percy GAYSEX. Woo!

TweetOkay, so I am a big fan of ghost stories. The Haunting is one of my favorite TV Shows, and if you can mix a ghost into a story, I’ll be a reader. Don’t you worry. (I’m also a werewolf/vampire fan – supernatural ftw) Today, I came across, sadly, the start of a story. (I’m also a werewolf/vampire fan – supernatural ftw)

Today, I came across, sadly, the start of a story. It’s not been updated since June, but the author has about a million other stories going on. It’s called “Dream Lover”

Young Donnie and his friends have taken it upon themselves to experiment with the exhilarating practice of ‘lucid dreaming’! Controlling their subconscious dreams and thoughts, creating a world of their own by building an interactive fantasy in their own minds! BUT…when Donnie begins dreaming repeatedly about a cute teen boy that loves him with his whole heart….is the boy just a figment of his imagination? Or has their little experiment somehow crossed a spiritual line…into a world that they know nothing about? What happens when your dreams are more real than you’re prepared to deal with?

It starts out light hearted and funny, and progresses into something that’s riveting and keeps you reading the words quicker than your brain can comprehend them. Donnie is a likable character who no one believes, and they all think he’s just turned his fantasy into a creepy dream.

It is awesome, and I’m hoping for another chapter to come soon. It has the potential to even end with a total of 5 chapters or so, so it’s not like it’s huge. But man, it’s quite an interesting pull.

You can read it here, and I gotta admit I’m a little worried about going to sleep myself!!
