Angels

A/N: Meh. A Nizter. I like the last line the best. It’s written to Wild Angels by Martina McBride. Bah.

Angels

A quick look was shared between the two lovers as she began her short walk down the small aisle. Thoughts were racing in each of their heads, memories alike. But each of those racing thoughts traced back to the other… just sweet nothings of each other…

Between the perfect world and the bottom line
Keeping love alive in these troubled times
Well, it’s a mircle in itself
And we know too well what that’s about
Still we made it through, only God knows how
We must’ve had a little help

She remembered the first time they talked… it was more formal than anything else. He was strange, and had Wolfie not liked him, she most likely wouldn’t have talked to him again. But she did… and well, now she’s damn glad that she did. He’s become the essential part of her dreams on a nightly basis.

Must’ve been…
Wild angels, wild angels
Watching over you and me (yeah)
Wild angels, wild angels
Baby, what else could it be?

He thought of the trouble they went through as they first started out. After her having been with Sean, no one really liked seeing him and her together. It seemed almost wrong to most of them, and the coupling was ignored and shunned for the main part. No one liked to see them together.

Well it must’ve been hard, it must’ve been tough
Keeping up with crazy fools like us
‘Cause it’s so easy to fall apart
And we still break each other’s heart sometimes
Spent some nights on the jagged side
Somehow we wake up in each other’s arms

But yet the two continued against the wishes of everyone else… and it was evident as she continued her walk that they were glad they had. They were in love, something nearly impossible to achieve in the continually changing world…

Oh, it must’ve been…
Wild angels, wild angels
Watching over you and me (yeah)
Wild angels, wild angels
Baby, what else could it be?

As the preacher began his words, their eyes met, and everything around them was pushed out of their senses. This was it, they were finally going to be together, legally and spiritually.

There are some nights
I watch you while you dream
I swear I hear the sound of beating wings
(angels)

“I do.”

Oh, it must’ve been…
Wild angels, wild angels
Watching over you and me (yeah)
Wild angels, wild, wild angels
Baby, what else could it be?

And high above, a lone angel smiled as she saw her two friends standing happily together.
