20 de Enero

T/N: Just for fun. Thanks to Becky for help on a few lines.

20 de Enero (20th of January)

La Oreja de Van Gogh

Pensé que era un buen momento,
por fin se hacía realidad,
tanto oír hablar de tu silencio,
dicen que te arrastra como el mar.

I thought it was a good moment,
that finally became reality,
everything I hear is about your silence,
telling me you are pulled on like the sea.

Llené de libros mi maleta,
también de fotos tuyas de antes,
dibujé tu sonrisa junto a la mía,
me dormí con tu abrigo en el sofá.

My bag is full of books,
and of your photos of before,
I drew your smile next to mine,
and slept with your coat on the couch.

Quiero estar a tu lado,
quiero mirarte y sentir,
quiero perderme esperando,
quiero quererte o morir…

I want to be by your side,
I want to see you and to feel,
I want to lose myself waiting,
I want to want you or die…

Y en el momento que vi tu mirada buscando mi cara,
la madrugada del 20 de enero saliendo del tren,
me pregunté que sería sin tí el resto de mi vida,
y desde entonces te quiero y te adoro y te vuelvo a querer.

And in the moment I saw your gaze looking for my face,
the dawn of January 20th, stepping off the train,
I asked myself what I’d be without you for rest of my life,
and ever since I love you, I adore you, and I want you again.

Cogí un tren que no dormía,
y vi tu cara en un cristal,
era un reflejo del sol de mediodía,
era un poema de amor para viajar.

I caught a train that wasn’t asleep,
and saw your face in a glass,
it was a reflection of the midday sun,
it was a love poem for travel.

Quiero estar a tu lado,
quiero mirarte y sentir,
quiero perderme esperando,
quiero quererte o morir…

I want to be by your side,
I want to see you and to feel,
I want to lose myself waiting,
I want to want you or die…

Y en el momento que vi tu mirada buscando mi cara,
la madrugada del 20 de enero saliendo del tren,
me pregunté que sería sin tí el resto de mi vida,
y desde entonces te quiero y te adoro y te vuelvo a querer.

And in the moment I saw your gaze looking for my face,
the dawn of January 20th, stepping off the train,
I asked myself what I’d be without you for rest of my life,
and ever since I love you, I adore you, and I want you again.

Te perdí y no te perderé,
nunca más te dejaré.
Te busqué muy lejos de aquí,
te encontré pensando en mí.

I lost you and I won’t lose you,
never again will I be done with you.
I looked for you far from here,
I found you thinking about me.

Y en el momento que vi tu mirada buscando mi cara,
la madrugada del 20 de enero saliendo del tren,
me pregunté que sería sin tí el resto de mi vida,
y desde entonces te quiero, te adoro y te vuelvo a querer.

And in the moment I saw your gaze looking for my face,
the dawn of January 20th, stepping off the train,
I asked myself what I’d be without you for rest of my life,
and ever since I love you, I adore you, and I want you again.
